Gene joined LGD in early 2022 when he partnered with Mike Marino after founder Tommy Daniel retired. Prior to LGD Gene was drafted by the Washington Nationals and played four years within their organization before moving on and working for FCS, Inc as Director of Operations. During his time at FCS Gene helped grow the company from one employee to over 60 with operations in three cities. Gene holds a Business Administration degree from Averett University and is a native of the Lynchburg area. Gene is excited about guiding LGD into a future of expansion while also maintaining a focus on customer service and a small business feel.
Gene is married to his wife of 16 years, Alison Yost. In his free time Gene coaches Varsity baseball at Brookville and enjoys golfing and camping. Gene is also an advocate for supporting charities including Birdie For A Cause, St. Jude, American Cancer Society, and the Boys and Girls Club to name a few.
Mike Marino
Owner and operator of LGD since 2000 when he partnered with Tommy Daniel, the founder of Lynchburg Garage Door. For the past 25 years Mike has developed a tremendous reputation in the residential and commercial garage door industry. With over 43 years of combined experience, there isn’t much he hasn’t seen. He now aims to train and educate our team to prepare LGD for the future. Mike is married to Anne Marino, together they have several dogs, cats, and a bird. In his free time you can find Mike playing golf and meeting with the guys.
Chris Jones
Chris joined LGD in early 2023. Chris brings 25 years of mechanical and maintenance knowledge to Lynchburg Garage Door. Chris will serve a valuable role with the company, and assist in commercial, residential, and service
needs. Previous to LGD Chris worked for 15 years maintaining and hauling water vessels. Chris is a Lynchburg local with two daughters. He is an avid hunter and family man.
Wendell Yost
Wendell comes to Lynchburg Garage Door after 43 years of service at Belvac. Wendell retired in early 2023 and immediately joined the LGD staff to assist on the commercial side of the business. He brings a ton of experience and knowledge to LGD and we are excited to have him on the team. In his “retirement” free time, Wendell enjoys golfing, camping, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family.
Dylan Kramer
Dylan joined LGD in 2022 as a garage door technician. His previous experience includes customer service. Dylan is a native of Forest and used to play baseball for Jefferson Forest High School. In his free time Dylan can be found cooking and hanging out with his family and friends.
David Powers
David joined the team in 2022 after having worked in a variety of service related industries including: HVAC, insulation, and fiber optics. David has lived in the area for 22 years and enjoys fishing when he is not working on garage doors.
Heidi DeWitt
Heidi joined Lynchburg Garage Door in November of 2022 to help grow the business through business networking and social media marketing. Before working for LGD Heidi owned and operated a local wedding venue for 10 years and worked in an administrative role for a telecommunications company specializing in DoD clients. Heidi holds a master’s degree in business administration from University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree in business
management from Lynchburg College. In her free time Heidi enjoys traveling with her husband and daughter.
Travis Thornton
Travis joined Lynchburg Garage Door in early 2023. Travis will help oversee the day to day operations on commercial, residential, and service needs. Travis brings a machining background with years of experience to the
LGD team. Travis is a local to the Campbell County area and is married with two sons. In his free time Travis enjoys camping, golfing, and being with his family.
Abbie Thornton
Abbie joined the Lynchburg Garage Door Team in 2023 to help assist with customer service. Abbie is a Lynchburg native who is married with one son and one step-son. When she isn’t working for LGD she is a registered nurse at Centra. In her free time, Abbie enjoys camping with her family.
Steve Purcell
Steve joined LGD in early 2023 and immediately made an impact on the business. Steve brings over 20 years of mechanical, welding, and construction knowledge to the company. Steve will help oversee the commercial division at LGD. In his spare time Steve enjoys fishing, hunting, and golf. We are excited to have Steve on our
team.
Alex Enzinna
Alex joined LGD in 2022 as a garage door technician. Alex quickly filled the need for our CSR and warehouse needs. Alex takes pride in helping customers with all their garage door needs. Previous to Lynchburg Garage Door, Alex
worked for six years in landscaping and five years in construction carpentry. Alex is a native of Lynchburg. During his time off of work Alex enjoys making music and staying home.
